KYUSU is a teapot in Japanese. Thinking about classic design and usefulness through years of trial and error. A brass handle for shiro(white) and steel one for kuro(black). Designed with HAPPA STAND logo on the bottom of KYUSU by hand carving and octagon which is our brand number 「8 / 八 / eight」 on the lid knob and the shape.

この急須は、日本一の陶磁器生産量を誇る美濃焼の生産地として有名な岐阜県土岐市で窯元と一緒に製作されました。美濃焼は、型を彫る型屋や生地を作る鋳込み屋、陶器を焼く窯元などそれぞれに職人さんがいて昔ながらの分業制が根付いています。

取っ手部分は、創業５０年以上になる地元の板金屋と粋なデザインで使い勝手も良いモノになるように、何度もサンプル作りを繰り返し、白には真鍮製の取っ手をつけ、黒には鋼鉄製の取っ手が付いております。

蓋の持ち手部分に数字の「８」を元に縁起物の八角形を落とし込み、底面には美濃焼の型職人に家紋ロゴを手彫りで入れられています。

※水滴や汚れを放置すると取っ手の真鍮部分から緑青というサビのようなものが出ることがありますが、身体に特に害はありません。使用後は”洗剤を使わずに”水洗いをし、水気を切ってすぐに乾燥させてください。そのサビのような跡も、職人さんが作成した本物の真鍮だからこそ出る自然な風合いとして使い込んでいき、自分オリジナルの”アジ”と経年変化を愉しんで頂けたら幸いです。
